Movie Review: Red Cliff

A movie that I waited so long, starring by Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro & Lin Chi-ling whereby story started In 208 A.D., in the final days of the Han Dynasty, Prime Minster Cao Cao convinced the fickle Emperor Han the only way to unite all of China was to declare war on the kingdoms of Xu in the west and East Wu in the south. With this campaign, Xu & Wu are formed into alliance against eight hundreds thousands of Cao Cao’s military.

This part of the story is one of the best part in The Romance of Three Kingdoms, also known as The battle of Chibi 赤壁之戰 . The allied victory at Red Cliffs ensured the survival of Liu Bei and Sun Quan, gave them control of the Yangtze. In this movie, it only mention the pre-war part of the battle of Chibi, including how this battle started and how Zhuge Liang & Zhou Yu came to know each others.

I remember during school time, beside The Journey to the West, this is the other main novel that I repeated at least 3 times. I love zhuge Liang, CaoCao, Lui Bei, Zhang Fei and of course the unbeatable General Guan Yu & Zhao Ji Long

This movie is definitely better than the earlier movie I watch, The Mummy and I cant wait for the 2nd part of the movie to be release.

Some of my friends start asking me, err, Edwin, how many website do you have now? which one shall we follow? haha, let me explain this, I started with www.edwintcg.multiply.com a year ago but beside the response time issue, the image quality arent that good. However, since I have almost 800 network contacts in my multiply, I will still post my link over to continue update my friends on my latest work. As for www.flickr.com/photos/edwintcg , it has good images quality and never fail me on the response time, but too bad, it has limited layout and it is purely for photos viewing without blog, link or review.

So, I decide to register with wordpress and my own domain www.edwintcg.com / www.edwintcg.wordpress.com for more flexible photo gallery sharing and blog update. Currently, my web designer is working on my photo gallery and showcase pages and I shall migrate to www.edwintcg.com within August I hope.

Yes, finally my dream come true with my own domain. I do hope to share with you all my photos which records my photography journey since I started May 2007……

And to you, Amanda and Benjamin, this is what your daddy been doing during all these weekends..and every single nights on photo editing and blogging. As promise, I will make my time for both of you at least once a month to spend the whole weekend with you two…

Shooting at Le Meridien, KL Central

Last night I was the 2nd Photographer for ThePhotoz team working with Hong shooting at Le Meridien, KL. One of the challenging dinner venue due to its low light condition. It was a mix culture wedding with Malay bride and UK groom. The dinner started quiet late at 9pm and I am glad to get a few nice shoots during thier marching without flash. However, I still think 50mm f1.2 works better in these type of low light condition compare to 85mm f1.2 after I tested 50mm f1.2 on Jenny Sun’s camera. hahahah. 

Back to the wedding dinner. Sometimes I just wonder how amazing is the marriage when come to mix culture marriage, the understanding of each other culture and respects, it is not easy at all.
